Cool for Coal Kids' Day Out Activities

Explore the world of coal with hands-on fun and creativity! Balance coal rocks on a scale, design a coal mining town, and build a silly coal character with googly eyes and a story to match. Coal has never been cooler! This plan is designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and develop problem-solving skills. Throughout the day, campers will engage in a variety of activities that blend art, social-emotional learning, hands-on engineering, and scientific exploration. While the lesson plan incorporates many different Pennsylvania Learning Standards, it focuses on the key learning area of “Scientific Thinking.” Specifically, students will engage in learning activities that meet the PA Standard Areas: Earth Science and Environmental Literacy and Sustainability.
