Zoo Day Kids' Day Out Activities

Let’s journey to the zoo! We’ll learn fun facts about unique animals and craft our own along the way. Make a paper cup giraffe, paper heart penguin, elephant paper plate, and hippo puppet. We’ll end our crazy day by discussing how we can overcome boredom and then solve a little monkey math. Get ready to take a tour of the zoo! Zoo Day is an interactive school-age lesson plan that encourages students to construct knowledge through thoughtfully planned activities and active exploration of their environment. While the lesson plan incorporates many different Pennsylvania Learning Standards, it focuses on the key learning area of “Creative Thinking and Expression.” Specifically, students will engage in learning activities that meet the PA Standard Areas: Visual Arts, Gross Motor Coordination and Mathematical Thinking.
